Lacalle Pou in Las Piedras: “The government works are for everyone”

The President of the Republic headed this Thursday the 11th the inauguration of the building works of the Corfrisa and Obelisco polyclinics, in Las Piedras, Canelones. The health centers of the ASSE Primary Care Network (RAP) will serve some 8,000 users and will incorporate new services. The resources of the Uruguayans have no political color and must be returned to society in quality of life, said Lacalle Pou.

The president of the State Health Services Administration (ASSE), Leonardo Cipriani, also participated in the reopenings; the vice president of the provider, Marcelo Sosa, and the undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP), Juan José Olaizola, as well as other authorities of both organizations.

In the first instance, Lacalle Pou attended the inauguration of the reform works of the Corfrisa polyclinic. There he indicated that the neighborhood, of the same name, is one of those that will receive national funds to make improvements to ensure quality of life for the inhabitants.

He also announced that fiber optics will be installed in the neighborhoods of Casavalle, in Montevideo, and Cerro Pelado, in the department of Maldonado.

The work of the Corfrisa polyclinic, which serves some 2,000 users, took three and a half months of tasks, as part of an agreement between the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) and ASSE. Some 2,500,000 pesos were invested to intervene walls, renew the electrical system, sanitation, offices, medical waste deposits, interior and exterior lighting, carpentry and perimeter fencing, among other actions.

The establishment includes dentistry, general and family medicine, pediatrics, vaccination services, blood draws and Pap tests. In addition, there you can process the health card on the day, with a capacity of 80 per week. Corfrisa will be the first center to use this benefit in the entire region.

Later, Lacalle Pou and the rest of the hierarchs inaugurated the works of the Obelisco polyclinic, located in the homonymous neighborhood of Las Piedras.

On the occasion, the president considered that the resources of the Uruguayans have no political color and that the administration should return them to society in order to improve the quality of life. And he added: “The works of the Government are for everyone.” In this sense, he understood the areas of education, safety and health to be priorities.

Then, the president toured the new facilities, which include the expansion of the building, rainwater works, drainage, entrance paving, interior and exterior signage, repairs to sanitation, walls and subfloors.

In addition, the waiting room, the infirmary, the admissions area, the pharmacy and the sector for civil servants were increased. Infrastructure improvements were made in family medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, midwife, general medicine, pharmacy, and vaccination services. and blood draw. The investment was 4 million pesos.

The Obelisco polyclinic will also have the first occupational health and safety committee of the Canelones RAP to serve its officials. It will also include other services, such as a dental office, and a doctor or nursing home, through the Emergency Medical Care System (SAME) 105, which will provide vaccinations, palliative care, nursing, medical and mental health consultation. About 6,000 users will be assisted in this establishment.
