Labor market in Colombia: is it recovering?

By January 2022, the unemployment rate in Colombia stood at 14.6%, positive figure if one takes into account that for the same month last year unemployment was above 17%.

However, the figure still worries many as it is still a double-digit percentage, and Progress in terms of job creation and recovery seems to be moving more slowly than in other aspects of economic reactivation.

In addition, the gaps between men and women continue to widen and the high figures for youth unemployment, among other aspects, do not subside.

But what to do about this problem and how to act to create more jobs?

Iván Jaramillo, Researcher at the Labor Observatory of the Universidad del Rosario, speaks in this episode of Economicast about the challenges that the country faces in this matter and the alternatives that exist to generate more employment.
