As part of the celebrations for the departmental anniversary, La Paz invites visit its main tourist places, but one with special zeal, ‘the road of death’.
The tours start in the city of Peacefrom where hethe path towards the Cordillera Real is undertaken. And the descent begins at La Cumbre, the highest point on the road to Coroico (at more than 4,300 meters above sea level).
Xtreme Down Hill operator Jorge Guachallainvited the population to visit the different tourist places in the department of La Paz that they are “unique places that we have in Bolivia”.
“We want the population to enjoy their trip, we have several tourist routes, but the one I specialize in is ‘the road of death.’ I invite you to do this four-hour bicycle adventure. We provide a service guaranteed, we have security measures so that you are not afraid of taking any type of risk”, he indicated in time to remark that it is a ‘heart attack’ experience.
For her part, the Vice Minister of Tourism, Eliana Ampuero, invited the population to visit the different tourist sites during the holiday of July 16, which commemorates 214 years of the La Paz Revolution, which in this administration moved to Monday, July 17.
“The national government moved the departmental holiday of La Paz to Monday, July 17, in commemoration of the 214 years of the La Paz Revolution. In this framework, we invite the population of La Paz and those not of La Paz to take advantage of the long holiday to tour the different tourist sites that we have in La Paz and in the country,” the vice minister asserted.
For this weekend and the holiday, they calculate that an economic movement of more than Bs 56 million can be generatedfor the route of approximately 113,000 travelers in the department of La Paz.
“That means that in three days of travel, with a two-night stay in a tourist site, the traveler spends an average of Bs 495, which represents an economic dynamic of more than Bs 56 million Only this weekend, that is the projection”, he pointed out.
Vice Minister Ampuero mentioned that the population can visit the different tourist attractions in the department of La Paz and other regions of the country, such as the Yungas, Copacabana, Toro Toro and the Salar de Uyuni in Potosí, the wine route and singani in Tarijaamong other “wonderful places”.
“For example, we can go to the Yungas visiting the municipalities of Coroico, Caranavi, which offers some important packages, we can do the ‘road of death’ route, visit Rincón del Tigre. We can go to the north of the department to the Madidi park, we can also make visits around the regions of Lake Titicaca To enjoy the gastronomy do nautical activities. La Paz is magnificent”, he remarked.
