La Oroya: Family going to patron saint festival saved from dying in rollover

Eight members of the same family who were traveling from Huancayo to the Corpacancha annex yesterday afternoon, Monday, July 29, to celebrate the central day of the patron saint festival in honor of the patron saint San Marcos, ended up seriously injured when the mini van they were traveling in went off track.

The vehicle with license plate CLA-442 driven by Sedy Vargas, went off the road and overturned in the Pampahuain sector, Socro crossing, on the border between the districts of Carhuacayan and Marcapomacocha in the province of La Oroya.

As a result of the accident, Naysha Rojas Solorzano, Abrahán Aroni Huamani, Estela Córdova Ramos, Antonio Solorzano Ricra and the minors Zaily GS Zavala and the brothers Jodfred VS and Nikol VS were injured and were assisted by citizen security personnel.

The security forces of the Santa Bárbara de Carhuacayan district municipality arrived in the area to provide the relevant support to the family, which included minors.

Medical personnel also came to the scene and took them to the hospital in the province of Junín, where the diagnosis was reserved. The family members were saved by a miracle, as the minivan was practically destroyed after it went off course and rolled over several times. The family was traveling to see the bullfight.
