The ambassador highlighted that more than 13,000 Mexican migrant workers will receive $6.5 million in back wages, “money they earned with the sweat of their brow in the United States.”
“Thanks to the initiative of the Department of Labor of the United States and the collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Mexico, this historic action to locate workers and give them that money will be possible,” he said.
The official reiterated that the treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada will bring better wages and greater protection of workers’ rights.
