Judge Víctor Zúñiga, of the Fourth National Preparatory Investigation Court, rejected the request of former presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori to travel to Madrid, Spain, with the aim of participating in a World Law Foundation event. Magistrate denies the request after the leader of Fuerza Popular was warned for not duly informing last December that the Oxford Union Society had canceled her invitation.
Zúñiga Urday maintains that what is required by Fujimori Higuchi’s defense is not appropriate since the right to political participation of the investigated cannot be superimposed on ensuring justice, the objective of the appearance with restrictions that was issued against her.
