Juan Carlos Izquierdo was separated from his duties as a prosecutor in Manabí, while the investigations into the death of Naomi Arcentales are being carried out.
This Sunday, December 19, 2021, the president of the Council of the Judiciary, María del Carmen Maldonado, announced that the temporary suspension of Juan Carlos Izquierdo, prosecutor in Manabí.
«Regarding the fiscal agent of Manabí Juan Carlos I, I have ordered the preventive measure of suspension of his position, while the Council of the Judiciary investigates possible disciplinary infractions of our competition. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) must investigate the alleged crime of Naomi Arcentales, ”the official published.
Arcentales was found dead on December 13, 2021 in Manta. Izquierdo, who was a couple of Naomi Arcentales, he is accused of violence and mistreatment by her family. He even has a complaint filed with the Prosecutor’s Office for murder.
In this sense, Tais Arcentales, sister Naomi Arcentales, said the initial version of a possible suicide is false; and has even done a direct request to the attorney general, Diana Salazar, for a transparent investigation into what really happened.
