Judges are inhibited from hearing coercion in the drug case

At least two judges they have been inhibited from knowing the hearings of security measures coercion against those accused of having confronted and injured three police officers, in an alleged exchange of shots in which the alleged drug dealer Jarris Almanzar in the Duarte province.

Last weekend, magistrate Víctor Alfonso Ynoa resigned, and the appeal court appointed magistrate Janny Maldonado, who also withdrew from hearing the process, reported a source from the local Public Ministry.

The court is expected to reassign another judge and the new date for hearing the audience from coercion.

The Duarte Public Ministry is requesting preventive detention against Jairon Almánzar, 19 years old, and Nataly Suriel Hiciano, 26 years old, indicated by the authorities as the son and partner respectively of the alleged drug dealer.

The police agents who were wounded by gunshots were identified as Major Matos Trinidad Martínez and Private Enmanuel Durán Peralta, while Corporal Eddy Frank Bocio Pérez, the latter is still in a health center receiving care since his condition it is more delicate.

In the shooting that occurred at the entrance to the San Francisco de Macorís municipality, in addition to Jarris, another of his companions, identified as Óscar Sosa Mejía, 36, was killed.

The authorities of the Police and the Public Ministry indicated that the alleged drug trafficker, in addition to being the main distributor in the municipal district of Las Terrenas in the Samaná province, had several arrest warrants against him for different criminal acts that he would have committed. .
