Santo Domingo.-The Vice President of Dominican Liberation Partya (PLD), Juan Ariel Jiménez, highlighted the qualities of the three main candidates for the nomination for the Presidency candidacy for that organization ahead of the 2024 elections.
In that order, he defined the former Vice President of the Republic, Margarita Cedenoas a person of State, who has had to occupy public positions of great relevance and promote programs such as social aid, key in difficult times in the country.
“Margarita Cedeño, is definitely a person with experience, capacity and, in addition, with a big heart”, defined her.
About Abel Martínez, he said that he is possibly one of the best mayors the country has had, “someone of whom Santiago feels extremely proud for how efficient he has been.”
He understands that Martínez also knows the State “very well” because he has been a congressman (president of the Chamber of Deputies).
In the case of Francisco Domínguez Brito, he pointed out that he knows the government almost in its entirety because he has been a prosecutor, attorney general, minister of labor, of the environment, and a senator.
Jiménez said that, if one thinks about the main issues for the future and the main challenges that the Dominican Republic faces, something important that must be taken into account is that Brito knows the three powers of the State and is one of the faces of institutionality and fights against the corruption and impunity that the PLD.

When interviewed on the program “No se dice más”, by Top Latina 101.7 fm, the former Minister of Economy also took the opportunity to talk about the other PLD candidates and described Karen Ricardo as a community worker and leader of Santo Domingo Este.
In the case of Maritza Hernández, former Minister of Labor, she said that she has strong ties with the union sector and finally, she highlighted that Luis de León, who declined to support Cedeño, is someone who comes from the educational sector, from the Boschist force.
“Each one has very good credentials to lead the ballot,” he emphasized.
PLD consultation
On October 16, the purple party will hold the Consultation on Presidential Candidates (Conap).
Alejandrina Germán, coordinator of the commission, explained that the consultation is based on the Constitution of the Republic, as well as the laws of Parties, Groups and Political Movements and the Organic Law of the Electoral Regime and other internal regulations.
He explained that the consultation will be carried out with the automated format, and for this equipment supplied by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) will be used.
