The journalist of the Signal 3 of La Victoria Francisca Sandoval He passed away this Thursday morning. The woman was in serious condition at the Public Assistance Emergency Hospital (ex-Posta Central). This, after being shot in the Meiggs neighborhood during a march for Labor Day (May 1).
The journalist joined the former Posta Central on May 1. She remained in the compound for 12 days, until her death.

The case and prime suspect
Let us remember that in the May 1 march – called by the Central Classista de Trabajadores -, in addition to Sandoval, there were two other gunshot wounds.
After the events, two subjects were arrested: Louis Salazarof Colombian nationality, and Yonaiker Fuenmayor Rondon, Venezuelan. Both were formalized on Monday, May 2 by the Sixth Guarantee Court of Santiago and were left with the precautionary measure of total house arrest.
The prosecutor Fernando Garcia He indicated that there are still pending proceedings, among them, “to make the inquiries to establish if there is a connection with the shots carried out by the defendants in Calle Exposición with the people who are injured.”
Another man was later arrested. Marcelo Naranjo (41), of Chilean nationality, accused of being the author of the shot that ended with the death of Sandoval.
The Seventh Guarantee Court formalized Naranjo on Thursday, May 3, under the crime of frustrated homicide. The accused remained with the precautionary measure of preventive detention.
