Journalist Faride Zerán will be the new president of the CNTV: President Boric appointed her to the position

President Gabriel Boric appointed the journalist and vice-rector for Outreach and Communications at the University of Chile, Faride Zeran Chelech (72), as the new president of the National Television Council (CNTV).

According to emmol, the President requested Zerán in January to fill the position. The decision will be formalized in the afternoon, at about 4:30 p.m.: the Government spokesperson minister, Camila Vallejowill present it to the media.

Trajectory

Zerán studied journalism at the University of Chile and between 2000 and 2004 he was a member of the board of the National Television of Chile (TVN).

Likewise, in 2003 she became director of the Institute of Communication and Image (ICEI) of the University of Chile. She remained in the position until 2010. Later, in 2014, she was appointed as vice-rector for Outreach and Communications at the same house of studies.

She was also director and founder of the cultural magazine Rocinante. She was previously co-founder and deputy director of the Pen and Brush Magazine; she was in charge of the cultural interviews every Sunday in the “Literature and Books” and “Topics” sections of the newspaper La Epoch; she was editor of Culture in the Analysis Magazineand political editor of the magazine The times.
