From Barraquilla, where the Fedegán Congress was held, President Gustavo Petro proposed to the president of said entity, José Félix Lafaurie, to join the negotiating team for the peace talks with the ELN.
The proposal was made by the head of state in the midst of his speech at the event, which had the presence of businessmen from all over the country.
From there, President Petro pointed out that, as a government, “we must enter into the possibilities of the demobilization of all the armed youth who are in Colombia killing each other”.

Consequently, he called for lafaurie integrate said entourage for the peace negotiations, the president of Fedegán is one of the main critics of the current government and husband of the Senator Maria Fernanda Cabal, who has led the political opposition to President Gustavo Petro.
“That’s why I’m going to propose, José Félix Lafaurie, that you integrate the commission that we have appointed on behalf of the Government as negotiators with the National Liberation Army, ELN”indicated the President of the Republic.
