The spokesperson for Popular Renewal, Jorge Montoya, announced that various factions of the Congress of the Republic have been talking to promote a vacancy motion against the head of state, Pedro Castillo. He remarked that soon Peru will have “a new helmsman.”
“The dialogue to promote the vacancy motion is underway, the dictator-in-training asked for help with the appointment of a new premier and cabinet, we are helping him,” Montoya Manrique posted on his Twitter account.
“Peru will not continue adrift, it will soon have a new helmsman. We are not all leaving, he will leave, ”he added in his writing.
The parliamentarian’s words come in the midst of criticism of Castillo Terrones for the reconformation of his Ministerial Cabinet, the fourth since he began his administration. This time he is headed by Aníbal Vásquez, who has served as Minister of Justice since August 2021.
Hernan Condori
Hernán Condori was sworn in as the new head of the Ministry of Health, replacing Hernando Cevallos. The new minister is being investigated by the Provincial Temporary Corporate Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Corruption Crimes of La Merced Functions, in Junín, for the alleged crimes of collection and incompatible negotiation when he served as executive director of the Chanchamayo Health Network, among 2011 and 2015.

Alfonso Chavarry
The Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Chávarry, was denounced for abuse of authority and has two other processes for illicit drug trafficking and crime against the public administration. Given this, the official argued that not all the complaints are true and that he does not record sentences against him.
“If I was tarnished or had a record, I would not have applied for this position. I have been working in Sucamec and in other entities and in my (resume) I do not have any sentence for drug trafficking, they are hurting me in that aspect.
