JCE reiterates that birth, marriage and other certificates no longer have to be legalized

The Central Electoral Board (JCE) reiterates that birth, marriage and death certificates no longer have to be legalized.

Through its twitter account, the regulatory body announced the news about the elimination of the legalization of the documents.

Through the tweet: Repeat after me: You no longer have to legalize the minutes! Again: do not legalize the minutes! Stronger: NO NEED TO LEGALIZE THE MINUTES! Was it clear already? The record that you are given in our offices and service centers does not need to be legalized. Spread the word!, it became official.

Since March of last year, the institution launched a pilot program, by means of which the process of legalization of the acts began to be eliminated.

Why was it necessary to legalize the minutes?

The legalized acts were required by different State institutions for different processes, such as university enrollment, weddings, trips, among others.

Digitization of the JCE

The elimination of the legalization process is joined by an announcement made by the institution last month, in which it announced that it is working to digitize its processes so that citizens can access its services without having to travel.
