American actor and comedian Jamie Foxx needed medical attention after being hit in the face with a glass while celebrating his birthday at a Beverly Hills restaurant, the Los Angeles Times reported this Saturday.
The incident occurred on Friday night at the famous Mr. Chow restaurant when “someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” a spokesperson for the actor told the newspaper.
Foxx, who turned 57 on December 13, received medical attention and stitches in his mouth. This Saturday he is recovering, according to his agent.
Beverly Hills police responded to a call about a possible assault with a deadly weapon at the restaurant, but upon investigation determined that it was a physical altercation that “involved multiple parties.” There were no arrests, according to a statement.
In April of last year, Foxx was hospitalized for 20 days in Atlanta, Georgia, for a medical emergency that began with a headache.
Jamie Foxx (Texas, 1967) won the Oscar for best actor for ‘Ray’ (2004), as well as the Golden Globe and the Screen Actors Guild, BAFTA and Critics Choice awards for this same film.
The actor was nominated in 2005 for the best supporting actor award for the film ‘Collateral’ at the Hollywood Academy Awards, the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs, but he failed to win at any of them.
Among the most acclaimed films in which he has appeared are also: ‘Miami Vice’ (2005), ‘Valentine’s Day’ (2009), ‘Django Unchained’ (2012) or ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021), among others.
