The mayor of Recoleta, Daniel Jadueaddressed the two lawsuits faced by the Chilean Association of Popular Pharmacies (Achifarp) -of which he is the legal representative- due to bankruptcy and seizure of assets, as a result of a debt of $860 million with the company Best Quality Products SpA.
“Popular pharmacies are not at any risk today,” said the mayor in conversation with Cooperative Radio. “This is an issue between the Association and a supplier that has also systematically lied in the press,” said Jadue.

“The Justice has dismissed the accusation of fraud and all the false accusations,” said the community chief, adding that “the company first said that we owed it 1,300 million pesos, and wanted to charge us twice for invoices that it had factored and that we were responding to factoring”.
The mayor of Recoleta explained that at that time they stopped paying. “We weren’t going to pay twice by putting our partners’ funds at risk,” he said.
He also lamented that “we did a very bad deal because halfway through the pandemic we had to buy masks at about 50 times their value on the market, and these people who take advantage, I think they wanted to take advantage of the Association.”
In addition, he questioned that “we have problems with a single provider, which I believe has a double intention, and that is to harm those who benefit from this project.”
Even so, he pointed out that “we are available to reach a payment agreement, but where we pay what corresponds and according to our possibilities.”
