The visitors started better in the first leg at Carneirão, with strong marking in the midfield and sought the goal more. The best chance came in the 14th minute, with Robinho who was face to face with the goalkeeper and kicked hard, but Fábio Mota was attentive and made a beautiful save. At 17, a scare: defender Bremer, from Atlético, went up to move away and ended up hitting teammate Leandro Sobral who fell on the lawn with shortness of breath. After medical attention, the player recovered and continued on the field.

With the ball rolling again, in the 24th minute, Dionisio invaded the Jacuipense area and, before kicking, was pushed by Danilo Rios. The referee of the field, Emerson Ricardo de Almeida Andrade, awarded the penalty, and sent off the midfielder Rios. There was no intervention by the Video Referee (VAR). Miller charged but who shone was the goalkeeper Mota who defended.

With one less player on the field, Jacuipense retreated, and Carcará took over the game. In the 36th minute, Thiaguinho gave the defender a pen before kicking, but Mota closed the goal. With so much insistence, in the 48th minute, Miller was redeemed and scored a great goal from outside the area, with no chances for Motta.

On the return of the break, Jacuipense had the chance of equalizing with a shot by Emerson at the entrance of the area, but the ball deflected in the marking.
