The Federales de Chiriquí have incorporated into their squad the major league player, Iván Herrera, who in his first game this season of tests was designated hitter in the victory of the Chiricanos over the Águilas Metropolitanas.

Herrera who went up to the Major Leagues in July 2022 with the St. Louis Cardinals and was on several occasions between Triple A and the big team where he had an average of .111 product of 2 hits in 18 at-bats with 1 run RBI, 2 walks and 8 strikeouts in 11 games that saw action.
Regarding the possibility of being with Panama in the World Baseball Classic, Herrera pointed out that it depends on the permission that the Cardinals organization can grant him “I am thinking of playing in the classic, Panama has improved in recent years, I think we have a good team that He can compete and do something that we have not achieved before, about the permit my agent is talking with the organization ”.
