Italy registered a 6.7% rise in prices in March compared to the same month last year, and represented the highest level since 1991, according to data released this Thursday by the Istat statistical institute.

Prices in the country rose 1.2% in March compared to February and 6.7% in one yearaccording to the preliminary inflation report released this Thursday by the official body.

According to the data, inflation “accelerates for the ninth consecutive month”, amid widespread concern in Europe about rising energy and commodity pricesas a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Countries like Spain and Germany they are registering sharp rises in inflation rateswhich are at the highest levels in recent decades.
