Israeli diplomat is held in China, amid ‘zero-COVID’ measures: “I got it in the wrong place in the world”

Diplomat Eddie Shapira, who currently serves as Consul General of Israel in Shanghai, announced this weekend on his Facebook account that he was held in detention for 10 days, in a hospital in this city, due to the policy of ” zero covid”, implemented by the Asian government.

According to Shapira, the conditions in which he was “reminiscent of those of a prison” and lived “the strangest 10 days you can imagine.”
