The Government will evaluate the mandatory use of the mask in open places that enjoy good ventilation, a possibility that is based on good epidemiological indicators, as recognized by the Minister of Health, Begoña Yarza.
Minister Yarza assured that this Tuesday the decision will be announced. “We are in an epidemiological stage of the pandemic in which we have low circulation of the virus, so one says: in those places where there are open spaces and there is good air circulation, we could generate a new way of inhabiting that space there, but we also We have to take care that people do not travel only through low-risk places, ”he declared to Radio Cooperativa.
Yarza maintained that “these reflections are being made by the Pandemic Response Commission, and what we have to give as a response from the Ministry of Health is not only to say here there is low and here there is high risk, but to guarantee that these transits are going to be careful” .
The minister made these statements in the framework of a “mass care operation” carried out at the San Borja Arriarán Clinical Hospital, an activity that included the collaboration of specialists from that facility and managed by the Medical College, who will attend to around a hundred patients on waiting lists.
Regarding this issue, the Undersecretary of Healthcare Networks, Fernando Araos, highlighted the design of a plan to reduce waiting lists. “On the issue of pavilions, what we are carrying out are three specific actions: first, we seek to extend the day of use of the pavilion, today we have pavilions that are even around 50% occupied. In this sense, what we are looking for is time tension, let’s say, during the day of the week, but also the use of Saturday and Sunday”.
The other pillar, according to Araos, is the “infrastructure recovery” of the pavilion that “is not being occupied”, to which is added the integration of “the public-private network”.
