The Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning (MVOT), Irene Moreira, is making moves within her work team and would be causing concern, so much so that her chief of staff, retired Colonel Gonzalo Reissig, resigned.
The reason for the resignation of the former soldier is that he no longer feels like a “trusted” figure in the circle of Moreira, leader of the ultra-conservative Cabildo Abierto party together with her husband, senator Guido Manini Ríos, according to the newspaper The country citing official sources.
Moreira would be rearming the cards of the leadership of the MVOT, which at the time was completed from the directory of Cabildo Abierto, which her husband commands together with the also senator -and is a presidential formula partner- Guillermo Domenech.
The newspaper assures that Moreira seeks to form his own current within the Cabildo Abierto, something that the weekly had reported Search last March. That, say the media, is seen “with good eyes” by lobbyists.
