IPAE Acción Empresarial regrets the acts of violence that occurred in the demonstrations and urges the authorities to seek an urgent solution to the political crisis who lives in the country
“In line with our principles of representative democracy, security and internal order that guarantee fundamental rights, we demand that the representatives of the Executive Power and the Congress of the Republic focus on finding a way out of the political crisis that they have been facing as soon as possible. the country”, they point out in a statement.
In addition, they allege that this is a critical moment in which all authorities, the private sector, civil society, and the population in general must work together to build a truly democratic Peru, with equal opportunities for all. with unrestricted respect for the institutionality, our Constitution and the integrity of all citizens.
In this context, IPAE regrets the death of seven Peruvians and “we extend our condolences to their loved ones, who are suffering this terrible loss as a result of the violence that is taking place within the demonstrations.”
“The right to demonstrate is fundamental and cannot be declined in a democratic State; However, this is not above others that protect citizens: the right to security, private property and free movement”Add.
The union indicates that these are being violated from the first day of protests with acts of vandalism, such as kidnapping of police officers, robberies, looting, destruction and fires at public institutions and companies, urban and commercial transport, blocking roads and communication routes.
“Let us remember that we are all citizens: the public and private sectors and civil society. Therefore, we must not allow this proliferation of violence, since it cannot be acceptable in a society, which must be built on dialogue and cooperation”.
Finally, IPAE calls on the citizens who are protesting to respect the right to personal security, private property and free movement. “We ask the authorities to restore internal order in precaution of the rights of individuals and companies.”
