The parliamentary investigative commission that worked on alleged irregularities in hours of union leave, requested by teachers of the National Federation of Secondary Teachers (Fenapes), identified acts of criminal appearance committed by six leaders of Fenapes and two former heads of education, according to reports the official members of said commission.
The leaders of Fenapes Garciela Almeida, Marcel Slamovitz, Alejandra Vespa, José Olivera, Ana Pescetto and Virignia García as well as the former heads of education Celsa Puente and Javier Landoni are the eight people who are mentioned in the material that they will deliver, according to the resolution to which he agreed The Observer.
With the file, those involved will be able to file their charges within 10 days, explained Colorado deputy Felipe Schipani at a press conference.
“Waiting for releases from people who never came is a bit naive,” said Gustavo Zubía, also from Colorado, referring to the repeated absences of the people summoned to the commission’s meetings. “We are going to comply with what the Constitution mandates” without attributing responsibilities, he clarified.
After the possible releases, the commission must make a new report and the Plenary of the Chamber of Deputies will vote if the matter should be raised to the Prosecutor’s Office, Schipani continued.
The resolution speaks of “alleged administrative omissions and irregularities and conduct with criminal appearance”, among which the following crimes are mentioned: fraud, fraud, forgery, “omission of officials to proceed to report crimes”, abuse of functions and concealment.
According to Schipani, nearly 5,000 hours of teacher absences justified by irregular union hours were discovered, which also translates into “millions of pesos” of losses, in what he described as a “phenomenal fraud.” The deputy maintained that the Justice will determine in greater detail the costs of these maneuvers.
