The investigations carried out by the Public Ministry to four superior prosecutors, after a complaint filed by the former education minister Lucy Molinar, were archived since there are no elements that prove the link of these officials with the reported criminal behavior.
According to the Attorney General of the Nation in charge Javier Caraballo, prosecutors Ruth Morcillo, Adecio Mojica, Zuleyka Moore and Nahaniel Murgas, returned to their work in the entity, although they were rotated from their usual positions.
The attorney assured that these relocations correspond to a restructuring that they have been doing since he took office. He added that prosecutor Zuleyka Moore moved from San Miguelito to the sexual crimes section, prosecutor Adecio Mojica moved to the San Miguelito homicide prosecutor’s office, while prosecutor Ruth Morcillo will continue in the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
For her part, she revealed that prosecutor Tania Sterling is incapacitated, so she has not returned to the Public Ministry.
Caraballo explained that, although this investigation was archived, the investigations against the former Attorney General of the Nation, Kenia Porcell, are ongoing.
“The other investigation that has to do with other former officials is ongoing and is being carried out in the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office,” he said when asked about the process against Porcell.
Caraballo said that the protected witness “Euro 14”, who testified in the investigation of the Grains case of the disappeared National Aid Program (PAN), stated “that no prosecutor neither intimidated him nor forced him to give the statements he gave, he says in his interview with the Attorney General’s Office. Likewise, there are other pieces of evidence that point to this same meaning, it is precisely these pieces of evidence that led us to decree the file”.
