Several criminal cases remain open against people who were involved in crimes such as attempted murder, apology for the crime and others that were recorded during the closure of the inter-American highway in July.

The First Superior Prosecutor of Chiriquí, Luis Martínez, affirmed that the progress of the investigations is remarkable because of the events that took place, five investigations have emerged for crimes of attempted homicide, apology for the crime, extortion, personal injury and property damage. .

He stressed that several people, who have already been arrested, took advantage of the demonstrations to commit crimes, so as authorities they will be responsible for enforcing the law.

“We want to show the community that we are going to be firm and energetic in the prosecution of the crimes that our political constitution allows us and that are behaviors duly framed and typified in the criminal code,” he said, recalling that there are actions or behaviors that do not They are classified as crimes and in these cases the prosecutors cannot proceed with accusations.
