The spectacular event of the pedal had as its epicenter the Botanical Garden (Departure and arrival), from where the crowd departed with the presence of the director of the Asunción Botanical Garden and Zoo Mary Llorens.
This bike ride seeks awareness and respect for motorists and bus drivers, in order to avoid accidents on the streets and routes where cyclists always get the worst of it.
“Respect the Cyclist” is a bicycle ride that also aims to remind all citizens that the bicycle is a means of transportation within traffic and that both motorists and motorcyclists must respect the overtaking rule that requires keeping a lateral distance of 1.5 meters when passing a cyclist or group of cyclists in circulation.
Everything started at 9:00 this Sunday morning, this event that also served to promote the use of bicycles as a means of transportation.
The crowd left the Asunción Botanical Garden and passed through the streets Primer Presidente, Madame Lynch, Aviadores del Chaco, Santísima Trinidad, Julio Correa, San Martín, Mcal. López, Constitución, Eligio Ayala, México, Palma, Plaza Juan E. O’Leary, Palma, Montevideo, Costanera José Asunción Flores and once again at the Asunción Botanical Garden.
This event had the support of the Municipal Traffic Police, in addition to the Youth and Sports Directorate of the Municipality of Asunción, the Non-communicable Diseases Directorate of the MSPBS, the cycling organizations ACUPY, Paraguay en Bici and organized Cyclesport SA.
