The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) extended this Thursday the yellow alert issued this morning for “strong storms and heavy rains” for the west of the country.
The report, which was updated three times and will remain in force – at least – until 7:30 p.m., ended the orange warning that affected the north of Uruguayan territory.
“It should be noted that in storm zones intense rains may be recorded in short periods, occasional hail falls, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind”says Inumet on their website.
“It will be updated at 7:30 p.m. or before significant changes,” it adds.
