Interior and Sports already have their new ministers in Petro government

The new presidential term in Colombia begins this Sunday, August 7, 2022, with the inauguration of Gustav Petro.

Thus, the Interior and Sports portfolios already know the names of their new leaders.

In the case of Ministry of Interior, Petro appointed Alfonso Prado, who, recently, was head of debate for the elected president.

At the Ministry of Sports, the minister will be Maria Isabel Urrutia the former athlete who won Colombia’s first gold medal at the Olympic Games (Sydney 2000).

She promoted the professionalization of athletes during her time in Congress and will be a representative of the Afro-Colombian people in the cabinetPeter explained.
