The results of the multisectoral table to face the shortage of medicines and their high cost in the country were presented this afternoon by the Vice President of the Republic José Gabriel Carrizo, who announced the launch of the Medicsol (Solidarity Medicine) program.
This program, developed by the Panamanian state, through the Government Innovation Authority (AIG), the Ministry of Health (Minsa), the Social Security Fund (CSS) and other government entities, will be established so that the insured who attend to a CSS pharmacy and do not find any medication can receive them at no cost in affiliated stores
According to the director of the CSS, Enrique Lau Cortés, when the insured does not find the medication, a digital prescription will automatically be issued to him or her registered in his or her ID with which he or she can go to authorized stores and receive the medicine. The cost of this medication dispensed outside the entity will be fully assumed by the CSS.
