The National Institute of Professional Technical Training (Infotep) reported this Tuesday that it opened a training center in the new Cibao Sur Regional Directorate, to offer technical training services, advice and encouragement to entrepreneurship and competitiveness, in an area with a population of more than 1.3 million people.
The work was built in an area of 1,270 square meters in San Francisco de Macorís, with resources from Infotep, for an amount of RD $ 77,649,923 and, in addition to the classrooms, it has four workshops: Gastronomy, Bar and Restaurant, Electricity and Computer Science, in addition to the 51 training activities offered in the southern Cibao provinces.
The general director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badía, said in the opening speech that this work is one more example of the will and mission of the institution to continue expanding training facilities and services throughout the country, hand in hand with the sector business and workers.
He expressed that this is an initiative in accordance with the guidelines and training policies for decent, productive and full employment, drawn up by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.
“We will be extending, in the same way, the training of the industry 4.0 or Fourth Industrial Revolution, with which we will successfully face the technological changes that are already beginning to transform production and the world economy ”, Santos Badía highlighted.
He said that the new facilities of the Cibao Sur Regional, built on land donated by Andrés Vanderhorst, “represent a true milestone of progress”, which will promote the advancement of the population and of all Dominicans who, once prepared, will achieve well-paid jobs or they will be in a position to undertake business initiatives.
Benefited provinces
The Cibao Sur Regional Directorate is responsible for the provinces Duarte, La Vega, Mirabal Sisters, Monsignor Nouel, María Trinidad Sánchez, Sánchez Ramírez and Samaná.
The new Infotep training center is located in the Jaya sector of San Francisco de Macorís. It has four buildings, divided into a block of classrooms and workshops, an administrative building, a cafeteria and a guardhouse. The first has a construction area of 755.12 meters, distributed on two levels for the four workshops, three classrooms, bathrooms and a warehouse.
Likewise, the administrative building encompasses an area of 248 square meters and houses the reception, offices of advisers of the Operative Centers of the System and of competitiveness, area of transport and bathrooms.
