The latest Survey of Expectations of Economic Variables speaks of 8% inflation by the end of 2022 and 5% by 2023, according to the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP).
Only for the current month, the inflation expectation is 0.6%, that is, 0.1% more than the same period last year and 0.5% higher than April. As for June, the difference would be 0.5%.
For the next 12 months, inflation is calculated at 5.5% and for 18 to 24 months, the level would be 4.8%.
Regarding the expectations of economic growth, the GDP would be 0.2% for 2022 and 4.0% for 2023.
As for the Monetary Policy Interest Rate, 7% would be maintained in both May and June. For the annual period 2022 it would remain at 7.25% and for the annual step 2023 at 6.25%.
Regarding the nominal exchange rate, a level of ₲/US$ 6,850 is projected, that is, below the G/US$ 6,950 of the previous month.
