India wins Miss Universe crown

The candidate Representative of India was raised this Sunday night with the crown of Miss Universe, at the end of the beauty pageant that this time was held in Israel.

Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu prevailed over the representatives of Paraguay, Nadia Ferreira and South Africa, Lalela Mswane, who were first and second runners-up.

Harnaaz, the new Miss Universe 2021, is 21 years old and is inspired by her mother, who broke generations of patriarchy to become a successful gynecologist and lead her family.

According to international portals, Harnaaz grew up working with her mother in health camps that dealt with women’s health and menstrual hygiene.

The 16 semi-finalists of the universal beauty pageant were made up of France, Colombia, Singapore, Panama, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Japan, Great Britain, the United States, India, Vietnam, Aruba, Paraguay, the Philippines, Venezuela and South Africa. The Bolivian representative, Nahemi Uequin, despite her excellent role in the contest, was not named in this chart.

The host of the event was Steve Harvey who recalled the broadcast of the event has its beginnings in 1951.

In this edition where the contest celebrated its 70 years, for the first time a candidate from the United Arab Emirates came forward. In addition, Miss Universe Morocco returned to the pageant after more than four decades.
