The Ecuadorian Independiente del Valle won the ticket to the semifinal of the Copa Sudamericana 2022 by beating Venezuelan Deportivo Táchira 4-1 (5-1 overall) this Tuesday, in the second leg of the quarterfinals played in Quito.
With goals from Jhoanner Chávez (32), Junior Sornoza (45+5, penalty), Lautaro Díaz (64) and Lorenzo Faravelli (80, penalty) the Ecuadorians got their pass to the next round. Robert Hernández scored for Táchira in minute 26.
Independiente del Valle had eliminated Lanús in the round of 16 2-1 on aggregate, and now passed over one of the greats of Venezuelan football.
In the semifinals, the Ecuadorian team will face the winner of the duel between Internacional de Porto Alegre and Melgar from Peru. This meeting will take place on Thursday from 18:15, in Brazil. The first leg ended 0-0.
