The faction of the Independiente barra brava that responds to César “Loquillo” Rodríguez carried out a confrontation with the police before the match against Tigrein Avellaneda for the ninth date of the LPF Cup, after which there was an unreported number of detainees.
Meanwhile, another faction, led by Pablo “Bebote” Álvarez, also starred in incidents after the match for which they had to close the doors of the stadium and the departure of the bus with the Independiente players was delayed.
According to sources from the operation, the clash occurred when the bars tried to enter the southern head of the Libertadores de América without tickets and forcing the turnstiles.
There, members of the Buenos Aires police intervened with shots of rubber bullets and struggles with the fans, several of whom were arrested, the same sources assured.
Later, and after the 1-1 draw between “Rojo” and Tigre, the “Bebote” supporter wanted to enter the field by force to attack their opponents, but they were repelled by the police.
This confrontation, in which the security forces also had to resort to shooting with rubber bullets, forced the stadium doors to be closed and the departure of both the bus with the “red” squad and several press workers to be delayed.
In the week, Independiente had reached an agreement with the Sports Violence Prevention Agency (Aprevide) of the province of Buenos Aires to play with the public, although with strong internal security measures between the three factions that were dispute the domain of the bar.
The groups are “Los Diablos Rojos”, led by “Bebote”; the “Dueños de Avellaneda”, whose visible head is a bar nicknamed Juani; and “Somos Nosotros”, the “Loquillo” faction.
