In Panama, more than 3 million 478 thousand people have been vaccinated against COVID-19

A total of 8,254,408 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been applied in Panama, in accordance with the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI) of these 3,478,259 they are first dose; 3,105,023 in second dose and 1,580,640 first booster dose. These inoculations have been applied since January 2021, when the vaccines arrived in the country, to date.

The PAI highlighted that 75,624 second booster doses have been applied and 429,338 pediatric dose, for children between 5 and 11 years.

In addition, on the afternoon of this Thursday, June 2, the Ministry of Health, in its report from the Department of Epidemiology on the situation of Covid-19 in Panama, specifies that there are 865,500 accumulated confirmed cases; of which 3,789 are new positive cases today. Four (4) deaths were reported in the last 24 hours for a cumulative of 8,262 deaths and a lethality of 1.0%.

The recovered amount to 826,425, of which 2,078 are new people declared as recovered today. 16,707 tests were applied for a positivity of 22.7%.

There are 30,183 active cases in the country, of which 30,533 are in home isolation and 280 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 30,493 at home and 40 in hotels. The hospitalized 245 in the Ward and 35 in the ICU.

The districts that report the largest number of cases today are: Juan Díaz 168; San Francisco 144; Bethany 134; Beautiful View 131; Rufina Alfaro 111 and Pacora 100 cases.
