In one week the PSUV "lost" 1,824 communities in elections for street chiefs

PSUV assumes inconvenience during the election of community leaders in the state of Cojedes and reduces the number of registered communities in less than a week, to have 45,125 communities registered in the process


The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reported this Monday, at a press conference of the national leadership, that during the elections of the heads of community, which took place on August 27, 55% were re-elected to the position. He added that 79% of all elected people were women and that 22% are under 30 years of age.

Admitting that they had problems, Cabello pointed out that the problem was registered in the Cojedes state, specifically in the Ricaurte municipality in which, according to the party’s vice president, former mayor Hilcriy Martínez was involved, so the process must be repeated, ” The decision has already been made,” he said.

In his statement on Monday, Diosdado Cabello said that the partisan process has registered 45,125 communities with nominations of between two and four people. Interestingly, the data decreased by 1,824 with respect to the data announced by the also PSUV deputy a week before when he stated that 46,949 communities were registered.

“This means that there goes the renewal of our party, they were recognized for all the work they have been doing. The fundamental principle is that there are no lines, no pressure of any kind. The rules are the same. How beautiful the process of the promoters, of the street bosses and of the communities has turned out », he said.

In the vote on Saturday, a party leader was elected for each of the communities. These community leaders supervise the work of the so-called street bosses or building bosses, who are the first link in the chain of militancy in the PSUV.

The last stage of the restructuring of the party’s bases will take place on September 3 with the election of the members of the Bolívar Chávez Battle Units, that is, the UBCH, which are the electoral cell of the ruling party.

From there, the PSUV must call for elections to renew the parish, municipal and regional teams of the awning, as Nicolas Maduro requested in April of this year. Thus, the government awning reorganizes and prepares for the presidential elections of 2024.
