In 30 months, Colón will have a new Manuel Amador Guerrero hospital

As part of the agreements reached yesterday, Thursday, May 26, to end part of the strike in the first link of Colón, at noon this Friday, May 27, the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, gave the order to proceed to restart the works on the new Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, in the province of Colón, which will benefit more than 260,000 inhabitants.

At a final cost of B/.256,362,033.32, this contract, which includes the study, design, construction, equipment and financing of the work, was awarded to the Medical Facilities Consortium of Panama, which must complete the work in 30 months, counted from the date.

The work, which will restart, is 18% complete and will have 22 buildings that will include administrative areas, an outpatient clinic, laboratories, an emergency room, 9 operating rooms and 500 beds.

Other health projects for Colón

The Minister of Health, Francisco Sucre, indicated that there are three other projects that will be continued for a total investment amount of B/ 2,966,140.75.
The first design to be carried out is the expansion of the Maternal and Child Health Center of Nombre de Dios, located in the district of Santa Isabel for the amount of 645 million, which has a physical progress of 95% which is expected deliver in July of this year.

Also as part of the Colmena Plan, the construction of the Dr. Miguel Vargas Maternal and Child Center will be carried out in the village of Palmas Bellas, District of Chagres and the Health Center of Miguel de la Borda, district of Donoso in the province of Colón .
