Layún prepares with the eagles of america to play the quarterfinals of the Clausura 2023 Mexican soccer tournament. The player born in Córdoba, Veracruz, ends his contract with América in December 2023 and explained that he does not worry about negotiating a renewal. “Today I am probably experiencing the last, if not one of the last Liguillas as a professional soccer player and I want to savor it to the fullest. In Mexico, Miguel Layún has been league champion twice with América and once with Monterrey. Internationally, he has played for Italian side Atalanta, in the English Premier League with Watford, in the Portuguese league he was champion with Porto, and in Spain he defended the shirts of Sevilla and Villarreal.
All this experience, he affirmed, keeps him calm, anxious to train this Saturday with the Eagles to enjoy a profession that he knows is close to ending. “I want to enjoy every day.
