The General Price Index – 10 (IGP-10) registered deflation (price fall) of 0.90% in September this year. The fall was more accentuated than the one observed in the previous month (-0.69%).
The data was released today (16) by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
With this result, the index accumulates inflation rates of 7.45% in the year and 8.24% in 12 months. In September last year, the index had deflation of 0.37% in the month and inflation of 26.84% in 12 months.
The Broad Producer Price Index (IPA), which measures wholesale, fell by 1.18% in September, deflation higher than that recorded in the previous month (-0.65%).
The Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures retail, also continued to register deflation, but at a higher rate, changing from -1.56% in August to -0.14% in September.
The National Construction Cost Index (INCC) changed from inflation of 0.74% in August to deflation of 0.02% in September.
