Ideam issues alerts for the advance of Tropical Storm Two towards San Andrés and the Colombian Caribbean

The Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam) issued the first alerts after the advance towards the Colombian Caribbean of tropical storm Twoa phenomenon that for now has an advance of 42 kilometers per hour and presents wind gusts of 64 kilometers per hour.

According to the entity, there is an “80% chance of a cyclone forming within the next 48 hours”, phenomenon that, for tomorrow, it would already impact the coastal areas of La Guajira, Santa Marta, Cesar and Magdalena generating electrical storms, increased rainfall and waves.

The Ideam even warns that “the probability to date is that, around Friday, July 1, it could be classified as a hurricane over the western Caribbean Sea, favoring heavy precipitation and increase in waves and wind in the area, including the archipelago of San Andrés, ProvidenciaSanta Catalina and the keys”.
