The rainy season in the country has been extended and prolonged in recent weeks in different cities, causing some inconvenience. The most recent report from the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam), in its forecast for Monday 18 and Thursday 21 April, indicates that there will be difficult days in some areas of Colombia.

In principle, cloudiness with precipitation is reported in some sectors of the Pacific, Caribbean, Andean, Orinoquía and Amazon regionsthe strongest during the afternoon, night and early morning.
According to the entity, this is the first rainy season of the year. Along with this, the ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) continues to be active, increasing rainfall in the Pacific region and a low pressure system towards the center-west of the Caribbean maritime zone, as well as an important wind disturbance aloftall this coupled with the entry of moisture from the Brazilian Amazon.
Ideam also announced that it expects a increased cloudiness and rain between moderate and strong in the Pacific, Caribbean, Andean, Orinoquía and Amazon regions. THE CLIMATE BY REGIONS
In the Sábana de Bogotá, the Ideam forecasts moderate and heavy rains in large sectors of the region. Particularly in the afternoon and at night, with a high probability of electrical activity.
On the other hand, in the Andean region Partial to mostly cloudy skies are expected. In addition, rainfall of moderate to strong intensity in the afternoons, nights and early mornings. Specifically in areas of Antioquia, Santanderes, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, west and south of Huila and Tolima. The Ideam also provides for high electrical activity.
