The Ibovespa, an indicator of the average performance of the quotations of shares traded on the B3 stock exchange, had the fifth best performance among 78 countries in the month of May, with an increase of 8.48%.
The survey was carried out by the risk rating agency Austin Rating, at the request of CNN Brasil Business. In the previous month, the index registered a sharp decline, with the second worst performance.
The country with the greatest variation was Chile, with an increase of 15.75%, followed by the Colombian stock market (12.59%), Russia (11.16%) and Montenegro (10.05%). The biggest drop was recorded in Kenya, at 14.85%.

This Friday (3), B3 closed the day down 1.15%, adding up to 111,102 points. Yesterday, after the disclosure of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Brazilian market in the first quarter, the stock market rose almost 1%. The recovery of stock markets abroad also softened the mood in the financial market.
According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), GDP grew 1% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the last quarter of 2021. The expansion was due to the service sector, which resumes activities and recovers from the pandemic of covid-19.
