Havana Cuba. – “I have been deceived all the time; I’m sick of nerves from all this situation but to them [las autoridades] They don’t care, they don’t do anything,” laments Cuban Siana Delgado de la Tejera, who faces a critical housing situation.

The interviewee and her five children live in a citadel on Delicias street, between Luz and Altarriba, in the Diez de Octubre municipality. In interview with CubaNet He denounced the construction problems that his house presents, as well as the situation of the sewage networks.

“The bathroom is crowded and we have to bathe on some bricks. They more or less cleared the kitchen, but the sewage was on the plates, the pots, on top of everything”, explained Delgado de la Tejera.

The woman also assured that she has gone to different state institutions where, according to what she says, they have treated her in a “bureaucratic” way.

“I have gone to the Provincial Government, to the council of state and I don’t leave the government here [Gobierno Municipal de Diez de Octubre] to talk to the mayor,” he said.

So far, the authorities have only offered her a subsidy to fix up her home. “Every time I go it is a story, that if the architect has not gone, that if Physical Planning has not gone…”, he denounced.

In addition, the interviewee argued that she fears for the lives of her daughters because when it rains pieces of rotten boards fall from the roof.

“When my girls sleep there,” she says as she points to a corner of the room, “the pieces of rotten boards fall on their heads,” she lamented.

Likewise, Delgado de la Tejera pointed out that, despite the fact that he has a propping order for his room, the authorities have not carried out the work either. “This is in danger of collapsing and they do nothing,” he stressed.

On the other hand, the woman added that she has illegally entered two empty state premises, but the authorities have evicted her without taking into account her delicate housing situation.

“They threw away my duvets and my sheets for the street. Now what they have with me is a mockery. I have been living in this citadel that is falling for 41 years, ”she lamented.

“I’m desperate, I can’t take it anymore. I have even had ideas of killing myself, ”she finished.
