GNB seized 30 rifle bullets belonging to Wilmer Guayabal

Members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) seized 30 cartridges intended for rifles, in the La Aceitera sector, Simón Bolívar municipality (San Mateo), Aragua state, according to reports.

The bullets were transported by Kelvin Alexander Piñero Martínez (El Pataruco), listed as a member of the Wilmer Guayabal criminal gang. This person was traveling on a motorcycle where he also carried 33 pieces of marijuana and a radio transmitter, according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) 42, which we accessed.

The detainee was handed over to the Public Ministry where they opened a file for illicit drug trafficking and illicit possession of war material.

On December 24, the military carried out a procedure in San Mateo (Aragua), through which they located and destroyed a logistics base belonging to the criminal group “Félix San Mateo”. In the improvised infrastructure, officials from the Urban Security Detachment (Desur) recovered 48 rifle cartridges, an AK-103 rifle charger and a radio transmitter.

Wilmer Guayabal’s group, dedicated to the sale of drugs and payment for vaccines, is considered a cell of the Aragua Train, whose main structure was dismantled in September 2023 when the government took over the Aragua Penitentiary Center.
Mask, weapons and pellets. In another incident, military officials captured a member of the criminal gang founded by Yeferson José Nava Jiménez, alias Yet Nava, according to military sources.

The detainee is registered as Julio César Valbuena Arias (Julito), captured in the Punta Iguana sector, Santa Rita municipality, Zulia. They confiscated a mask from the subject.

The Yet Nava gang specializes in extortion of merchants based on the Eastern Coast of the Lake.

Another member of a criminal gang was captured but on this occasion, in the state of Bolívar, Cruce de Guri sector, Angostura municipality, according to a report from Detachment 622 of the GNB.

The captured person is registered as Gabriel Jesús Palacios Palma, alias Chipú, from whom they seized eleven cartridges for 7.62X39 mm caliber rifles, a telephone set and a radio transmitter.

The captured subject is a member of the El Ciego gang, founded by Wilmer José Brizuela (Wilmito), who was killed in April 2017 inside the Aragua Penitentiary Center, located in Tocorón. Currently, the El Ciego gang is led by Reiniero Alberto Murgueytio Bastardo, according to military sources.

And in San Antonio del Táchira, the military seized a flower-type firearm, caliber 5.5 mm and 100 5.5 mm pellets. The material was carried by Jhonny Robert Martínez Pérez, who was detained and handed over to the Public Ministry. He will not be prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm.
