MIAMI, United States. — The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for Cuba donated almost two million condoms to the Caribbean country, that agency reported Thursday.
According to that organization, 1,785,600 male condoms are already being distributed to all health areas on the island.
The United Nations agency indicated that 2,800 packages of 144 condoms were sent to the provinces of Artemisa and Pinar del Río, specifically to the municipalities most affected by Hurricane Ian, while another 9,600 will reach the rest of the country’s municipalities.
The Fund noted in Twitter that “the condoms donated by UNFPA Cuba will protect key populations from unintended pregnancies, as well as sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS.”
