Neighbors left their houses terrified because the rustic walls were cracking, while the parish ended up uninhabitable. At 7:55 in the morning, when many were just starting their day’s activities, there was a telluric movement of magnitude 3.6 with a depth of 12 km with epicenter in the city of Huasicancha, in the province of Huancayo of the department of Junín.

“The earthquake was very strong, the walls of the church are cracked, the wall on the left side fell off, in addition the floor is littered with rubble that even covered the passageway and the benches where the parishioners sit to listen to mass,” said the priest. resident Raúl Quispe who made a video record of all the damage.
The first councilor of the District Municipality of Huasicancha, Sonia Yaranga, commented that the earthquake began with a tremor and a shaking, the neighbors ran terrified leaving their rustic houses, towards the street. Then, the authority asked the families to calm down so that they locate themselves in a safe area for fear of aftershocks.

The authority requested help from the Provincial Civil Defense so that they can verify the damage. Although there are no houses down, they fear that the consequences will be fatal with a second tremor or with the rains that are now more constant and contribute to soaking the adobe walls.
