President Luis Abinader appointed this Wednesday Henry Arturo Mercedes Vales as Director of Patronage.
With the appointment through decree number 31-23, the Executive Branch seeks to complete the composition of the members of the Patronage Council, among other provisions.
The General Directorate of Patronage (DGM) was created by him Culture Ministry.

The general director of Patronage will be responsible for directing and managing the entity, in addition to capturing and managing the Solidarity Funds to Support Culture (FOSAC) to carry out projects, plans and programs aimed at developing the cultural industry.
Likewise, its functions include collecting and maintaining updated statistics and cultural indicators to identify needs in the field of artistic and cultural creations, as well as proposing draft policies, standards and procedures that facilitate support for cultural industries.
