HOW DO I CALCULATE THE PAYMENT OF MY GRATIFICATION FOR NATIONAL HOLIDAYS?

The bonus for a private sector worker is a gross salary (they will not be subject to any AFP discount, Income Tax, etc.), in addition to the extraordinary bonus of 9% of the salary, corresponding to the contribution to Essalud. “Therefore, this means that you will receive an amount greater than the net salary that you normally get in your pocket each month,” according to Jorge Carrillo Acosta, professor and finance expert at Pacífico Business School.

Example to calculate your bonus with the Essalud bonus:

In short, the bonus will be the gross salary plus an additional 9% of the salary for Essalud. For example, if your gross salary is S/2,000, you must add S/180 (9% of S/2000) from the bonus, which makes a total of S/2,180.

What if I have EPS?

If you are affiliated with an EPS, the extraordinary bonus is equivalent to 6.75%.

For example, if your gross salary is S/2,000, you must add S/130 (6.5% of S/2000) from the bonus, which makes a total of S/2,130.

What happens if my salary is variable or imprecise in the calculation of the gratuity?

In this case, the remuneration received in the last 6 months prior to June 15, 2022 is averaged. For example, if you earned S/1,500 for two months; another 3, S/2,000 and one S/1,200, you must add it and divide it by 6. You must add it and divide it by 6. In this case the sum is S/10,200 and the result of the division is S/1,700. Your bonus will be based on an average salary of S / 1,700.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE COMPANY DOES NOT PAY ME MY GRATIFICATION?

If the deadline for your deposit has expired, the company you work for has not deposited this economic benefit of the bonus, you can be fined up to 26.12 Tax Units (120,152 soles).
