Through a statement, BetPlay, the main sponsor of Colombian professional football, informed the Colombian Football Federation that andnwill give an economic prize to the Colombian Women’s National Team Sub 17, who was runner-up after playing the final against Spain.

“Women’s football has had a special place for BetPlay and seeing the U-17 team reach this final is a source of pride. The process of these strong, disciplined women, who have built a path and are opening doors to the next generations of soccer players, is an example for girls from every corner of the country, who dream of becoming world leaders”, says the release.
For its part, the National Government announced that it will reward them for their participation in the World Cup. According to María Isabel Urrutia, Minister of Sports, they will be awarded $18 million for being runners-up.
The national government assures a prize of up to 24 million pesos per player for the Colombian under 17 women’s team if they win the World Cup, if they are runner-up then 18 million per player. They will also have monthly incentive and educational opportunities indicated the Sport Ministry.

Will they get more prizes?
After the controversy that broke out after Ramón Jesurún, president of the Colombian Football Federation (FCF), assured that there would be no financial compensation for his participation in the World Cup.
